JUNE performed at Club Med in the Seychelles for 15 days, so who could better tell us about this Live and Creative Residency experience on an extraordinary open stage?
"Hi Juliane & Cyril! How does it feel to perform in the Seychelles?
It makes you feel alive! For us, these trips are a chance to switch off, get inspired, meet new people and expand our network, keep our repertoire up to date and try out new songs on stage , as well as creating visual content. For this trip we were accompanied by a video-maker (JulienPolo aka Straya Prod) from Marseille with whom we filmed two video clips.
You work for Club Med, is that right ?
We're part of a program called "Club Med Live". It's a program that was created and designed for musical artists like us, to give them the opportunity of an artistic residency in some of the most beautiful places on earth, combining travel and creation. Basically, we play every evening for the resort's guests in exchange for all-inclusive accommodation. So we've played mainly at the sunsets during the aperitifs, at the unmissable white evening, and at the GOLD evening, which is well known to Club Med GM members.
How do customers react when you play?
It's mainly curiosity. Some are attentive and responsive, others less so. Our style of music means that we can easily adapt to the venue and the kind of atmosphere we're looking for. We work on the principle that if we can leave a memory of our music anchored in their holiday memories, we've won everything. We often get messages on our networks following our concerts and there's nothing more gratifying.
What will you take away from this trip?
Apart from the people we've met, the island of Saint-Anne is sublime and there's something for everyone: relaxation, hiking, water or land sports... there's plenty to choose from. The seawall is also well worth a visit; its beaches are among the most beautiful in the world. We cycled around the island, stopping off at Chez Jules for a treat!
